Buying Ghee, Honey and Mustard Oil Online: What to Check Before You Pay
A short buyer guide for everyday pantry items that are often adulterated.
Ghee, honey and mustard oil are costly, so they are common targets for mixing. A few habits protect your money and your family.
Ghee
Pure ghee melts cleanly and smells of cooked butter, not of artificial flavour. Ask about the source of the milk or butter and check the packing date.
Honey
Raw honey crystallises over time; that is normal. Be careful with very cheap honey that stays perfectly runny for months. Buy from sellers who tell you the flower season and source.
Mustard oil
Look for a sharp, clean mustard aroma. Prefer sellers who explain how the oil was pressed and packed.
Spices and grains
For turmeric, chili, coriander, cumin and garam masala, fresh colour and aroma matter more than a bright shade. Red rice and red sugar should look natural, not artificially uniform.
